Gloria Beard Haddock Obituary, New Bern, Dies at Home

The New Bern community is mourning the loss of Mrs. Gloria Elaine Beard Haddock, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who died August 10, 2026, at her residence. She was 73.

Her passing has brought sorrow to family members, friends and loved ones who are remembering her life and the relationships she built throughout her years.

“God is the keeper of our mind and soul,” the family shared in announcing her passing. “Even in times of grief and sorrow, His love and strength can make us whole.” The family is asking those who knew and loved Gloria to unite with them in prayer as they reflect on her life and legacy.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Garfield Eugene Haddock Jr. of Trenton, North Carolina, and her daughter, Eudanah Davis, and son-in-law, Tyrone Davis Jr., both of New Bern.

She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Jade Robinson, as well as her step-granddaughter, Nailijah Davis, and step-grandson, Landen Davis, all of New Bern.

Gloria is survived by her brother, Clever Lee Davis of Pontiac, Michigan, and four sisters: Evelyn Davis, Gail Hargett and her husband, George, and Sharon Ingram and her husband, Aundra, all of Trenton, North Carolina, along with Deborah Sanders of New Bern.

Her extended family includes brother-in-law Clifford Jackson of Orlando, Florida, and sister-in-law Rosa Johnson and her husband, Willie, of Charlotte, North Carolina. She is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gloria’s family also remembers her goddaughter, Bianca Grier, and godson, Denzel Walker, as well as close friends Bishop Mary L. Alexander and Evangelist Valerie Walker.

For those who knew Gloria, her death marks the loss of a cherished presence whose memory will continue through the family and loved ones she leaves behind. As they grieve, her family is holding onto faith, prayer and the memories of a life shared with those closest to her.

The family continues to ask for prayers and support as they navigate the days ahead and celebrate the life and legacy of Mrs. Gloria Elaine Beard Haddock.
